Fashion Show Valkenswaard

(20/04/2011) Last Saturday, April 16, 12 of our Queens were present at the Summer Fashion Show in Valkenswaard (NL). This show is organized yearly by Josh Santana, to raise funds for a good cause. As our queen finalists are involved with their own good cause, they also supported Josh’s project “Sorriso Kids” in Brasil.

The girls attended the fashion show, enjoyed the beautiful summer collections and the different performances on stage, like Brazilian Capoeira dancers, fitness demonstrations, ballet, ... The queens also had the opportunity to present themselves on stage and show their moves on the catwalk. To raise extra funds for the project “Sorriso Kids” ,tombola tickets were sold.  At the end of the show, an original Feyenoord footballshirt, signed  by all Feyenoord Players, was sold to the highest bidder. Patrick Lodewijks, Feyenoord player (and ex PSV keeper) bought the shirt for € 200. After the show, the queens posed for a group photo, together with Patrick.

It was a nice and entertaining night out, supporting the good cause. Congratulations to Josh Santana for the nice show.

Photo Shoot Olemense Zoo

(14/04/2011) Last Saturday the Queen finalists were present at the Zoo in Olmen (Belgium). Early in the morning the make up artists started doing their job. Special thanks to Vanessa Cogorno and Lies Cools who made the girls look even more beautiful. Karin was responsible for the styling ,not an easy job, knowing that some girls brought a really big suitcase full of clothes.

The photographers were ready for it. We enjoyed working with Danny Decock, Kris Geerts, Luc Geys, Robert Diepenbroek and of course our housephotographer Woodi Van Dolder. The girls did an individual shoot with at least 2 different photographers.

After the shoots and a break with freshly baked waffles (thanks to the teamwork from Karin & Luc), we all went to a nice corner of the zoo , to take pictures with “Harriette” a beautiful hawk. She was very willing to pose for the pictures , but from time to time she spread her wings, and  this caused some excitement amoungst the girls. Some didn’t feel at ease. But Jeroen, Harriette’s owner and trainer perfectly knows how to handle her.

After the bird adventure it was time for something completely different. Some girls were scared, but really wanted to go for this new  experience. They didn’ t regret it. Holding a real snake (a “King’s python” ) was not what they thought it would be. The snake felt like velvet, very soft, and she (or is it he?) was very friendly. Most girls even had the snake around the neck, like a really original necklace.

The weather was fantastic so meantime the girls could enjoy to the maximum the very nice surrounding of the Olmense Zoo. Special thanks again to the staff & management of the Zoo, for having us here for the 5th year already.  See you all next year!

Press Conference A Big Succes

(26/03/2011) Today’s pressconference was a big succes.  19 of the 22 finalists were presents. 3 girls were absent due to holidays or work.

All the girls did a great job. They introduced themselves to the press & the audience. They told about the charity they choose. Also a little catwalk.  It was a little bit stressing too , because ATV , the Antwerp Television was filming ! We are very pleased to have such a nice & motivated group. Good luck to all  of you girls !

Press Conference

(25/03/2011) This year's finalists will be presented to the press on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at San Marco Village in Schelle (B). The press conference starts at 15h30. Members of the press will have plenty of opportunity for interviews and photos after the formal introduction by Ms. Karin Nuyts, the president of Queen Benelux.
